A FOREST OF CROOKED TREES

From a forest of crooked trees

I shape my Bonsai

Pinching it by hand

snapping  the branch at it’s weakest point

so no brown ends appear

I collect rain

in a bucket

and water my Bonsai

on a strict schedule

monitoring the temperature

and pruning all new growth

into a shape aesthetically pleasing

My Bonsai is a work of Art.

But if it dreamt

it would dream of a Forest of Crooked Trees

and me resting in it’s shade.
