Dancing

I used to hide from the cold

I’d run from a storm

Anything to stay dry

Everything to keep warm

I huddled in the corner

as lightening pierced the sky

But I’ve made my peace with weather

and I’m dancing in the eye.

Now my hair is often windblown

My cheeks have felt the rain

There’s magic in the thunder

There’s beauty in the pain

Oh, I still love the sunshine

and the pinks of a sunrise

I’ve made my peace with living

and life dances in my eyes.
